Brotherhood
As a member of Delta Tau you will not just be another member but a Brother. Delta Tau is founded on basic principles that allow all of our members to participate and to voice their opinions. As a newly founded organization, we attempt to provide all of our members a place to fit in where they can use the skills they already have.
Delta Tau is a group of men who seek to further their relationship with Jesus Christ. We are a group of men who seek to grow closer with God and provide each other with support and encouragement. This brotherhood is geared towards helping us keep one another accountable and encourage one another in our daily walks with God.
Involvement
Delta Tau was founded as an official Missouri State organization in 2006 to promote Christian male camaraderie. We strive to encourage brotherhood through weekly Bible studies, mentorship, accountability, service events, social events, retreats, and more. Our aim is to develop fruitful leaders, with spiritual and intellectual values, who will go into the world and reach others for Christ.
In order to be a Member of Delta Tau, prospective members must meet all of the following requirements:
- Be Enrollment at Missouri State University
- Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA
- Pay Semester Dues
- Attend two Delta Tau Chapter Meetings each month.
How to get Started
First, we highly encourage all prospective members to attend at least one of our informational meetings which are held at the beginning of every semester. These meetings will allow you to better understand our philosophy and you will get the chance to meet current members. If you are unable to attend, feel free to show up to any other event, and we can fill you in on any details then.
Every semester we have a Rush Week full of activities where any prospective member can come out and meet the Brothers and other people interested in joining. These events are mostly informal where we meet and just hang out. Events range from going out bowling, having a cook out, going to a sporting event, etc. Check our calendar (on this site) for more information. After the Rush Week is over, Delta Tau will decide if you will be presented with a formal bid.
Following the bid, there will be a period (usually two weeks) where Rushees learn more about the history of Delta Tau, participate in a Bible Study outlining the pillars of the Brotherhood, and get to know the other guys in their rush class. Delta Tau strongly believes in an Initiation that is focused on the members and on God; nothing we do will put you in any type of danger. In other words, we are strongly opposed to any type of hazing. After initiation, you will become a Brother of Delta Tau.
